Our story: AgriShield-X
Last year, we researched something that really stuck with us:
“screw worms are starting to appear in Florida and other areas above the equator.”
Flies are more than a nuisance in livestock environments. They create constant stress for animals, handlers, and anyone working to keep herds healthy in practical, sustainable ways.
This problem inspired us to develop AgriShield-X™, a new concept now being researched and prototyped at Biotech International Institute (BII).
Our current research focus
Rather than using just one repellent, we are designing AgriShield-X as a system that combines several components:
Carvacrol (plant-derived component under evaluation)
Limonene oxide (citrus-derived component under evaluation)
Chitosan nanogels (biodegradable carrier being studied for controlled release)
One of our major challenges is controlling fly pressure, especially from screwworm flies, in ranching and dairy settings.
Why this fits our R&D DNA
At BII, we use biotechnology, chemistry, and engineering to develop sustainable solutions that can adapt as your needs change.
Our process covers everything from discovery through engineering, validation, scaling, and bringing products to market. We take each step seriously and never exaggerate our results.
At this stage, AgriShield-X is still in the early research phase. We are testing it, but are not making any claims about its safety, effectiveness, or regulatory approval yet.
Opportunities for partnership
We are seeking qualified collaborators to support structured evaluations in diverse livestock environments, refine formulation parameters, and help define future pathways that align with regulatory and industry requirements.
If you run a ranch, dairy, work in animal health, pest management, or ag-tech R&D, which evaluation standards are most important to you: ease of application, durability, animal tolerance, or environmental handling?
Please share your priorities in the comments. If you are interested in collaborating, contact us directly.
